The event was live streamed on social media platforms.

On February 20th, at 4:00 p.m., Florian Picasso recreated the atmosphere of his great-grandfather’s workshop, Pablo Picasso, from the time he lived and worked in his family villa, “La Californie”, in Cannes. Florian Picasso performed an exclusive 90-minute DJ set, showcasing new musical tracks while international artist Cyril Kongo painted a masterpiece at his side. The show has been filmed in an immersive and interactive manner and has been streamed live on social media. Two of those networks are:

Picasso is no stage name, Florian is the great-grandson of the mighty Pablo Picasso. He was adopted when he was 3 months old from the Go Vapour orphanage in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, by Marina Ruiz-Picasso. He grew up in Paris and then in Cannes, soaking up the artistic atmosphere of the Villa Californie where he later installed his music studio, just like Pablo did with his painting studio before him.

Florian started mixing for fun when he was 13, at the time he was mostly interested in hip-hop before discovering EDM and artists like Basement Jaxx, Groove Armada, or Daft Punk. This hobby quickly turned into a passion and a couple of years later, Florian decided to completely dedicate himself to music and to carry on the family’s artistic legacy.  He now plays shows all around the world and collaborates with some of the industry’s biggest names like Martin Garrix and Steve Aoki. Most importantly, he is writing his own story with his own signature sound, never limiting his creative mind and artistic drive.

Cyril Kongo’s masterpiece was auctioned, and proceeds donated to the Quang Chau Foundation orphanage in Da Namg, Vietnam, in association with the Global Gift Foundation. Cyril Kongo will deliver the painting to its buyer in Paris during the next TENco x Global Gift Gala event, which will take place on October 30, 2021, at the Four Seasons George V, Paris.

After painting in the streets for more than 30 years and working so that graffiti can be perceived differently, Cyril Kongo is now considered as a pioneer who understood how to break the codes and build something new through his contemporary and “avant-gardiste” point of view. Thanks to his vietnamese and french origins, his influences are multicultural, his level of excellence and his capacity to create new bridges between opposite worlds has forged his style and career.

Cyril Kongo has been able to associate his name with excellence, abundance and virtuosity. He comes from a marginalized environment which has been set aside of the institutionalized art industry but today this visionary artist is known internationally. His singular universe and his strong identity gave him the opportunity to collaborate with the most prestigious names of fashion such as Hermès, Chanel, Richard Mille but also with luxurious brands based on art and craftsmanship such as La Cornue, Pinel&Pinel, Atelier Victor, Daum…

Maria Bravo, the founder and president of the Global Gift Foundation said, “What Florian Picasso and Cyril Congo are doing to help the children of the Quang Chau Foundation is absolutely wonderful. The orphanage really does an extraordinary job; not only giving them a roof over their heads, food and studies, but they also give love and the feeling of belonging to a family”.

“Out of all the causes that my foundation wishes to support, Florian and Cyril chose the Quang Chau Foundation orphanage. This is a cause close to Florians´ heart. Had his mother, Marian Ruiz-Picasso not adopted him when he was only three months old, he could have been one of those children and so Florian shows great empathy in a world where having money or success, are the new values for most. Both Florian and Cyril have my deepest admiration, respect and affection”.
