IL BORRO ACQUIRES TENUTA PININO, EXPANDING ITS WINE PORTFOLIO WITH BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO

A very exciting news for Il Borro, their ever-expanding wine collection is now welcoming an additional 16.24-hectare vineyard and three Brunello di Montalcino DOCG labels.

Il Borro Toscana, the esteemed estate ofFerruccio Ferragamofamily, proudly announces the acquisition of the Pinino Winery, located in the historical and renowned winemaking region of Montalcino, in the heart of Tuscany. This initiative allows Il Borro Winesto furtherexpand its offering of high-quality wines,reinforcing its leadership in the premium wine sector.

Tenuta Pinino, with 21 hectares including 16.24 hectares of vineyards — 7.67 hectares of Brunello, 5.42 hectares of Rosso di Montalcino, and 3.15 hectares of S. Antimo Sangiovese – will complement Il Borro’s existing 84 hectares of vineyards. This acquisition will significantly enhance the variety of labels Il Borro already offers, adding approximately 80,000 bottles annually, a large portion of which is the most prestigious fine wine of Brunello di Montalcino, and not only but also offering one of the most diverse range of grapes and authentic wines. 

Owned by the Ferruccio Ferragamo family since 1993, Il Borro Toscana spans 1,100 hectares of organic farmland in the Valdarno Superiore basin. Managed by Ferruccio’s son, Salvatore, who is deeply committed to the wine sector, and Vittoria, responsible for the property’s award-winning sustainability efforts, the estate earned over €22 million in revenue in 2023, an 18% increase over the previous year. Il Borro Wines, the company’s viticulture and enology division, saw a 20% growth, withsignificant sales increases in all markets.
