Another work deposited by American Friends in the Prado collection
Pilar Conde Gutiérrez del Álamo, art collector residing in the United States, donates to American Friends of the Prado Museum a work by Giulio Clovio, considered the best miniaturist and illuminator of the Renaissance.

The work, a Resurrected Christ, following the model of a sculpture by Michelangelo, is a singularly noteworthy piece commissioned for private use. This is the second artwork deposited in the Prado Museum by American Friends.

A portrait of Giulio Clovio by Sofonisba Anguissola, one of the protagonists in the current temporary exhibit, “A Tale of Two Women Painters”, can be seen in Room C of the Jerónimos building until February 2nd.
