Christie´s leads the market with three of the top five prices realised
The Christie’s 20th Century Art auction has concluded with a impressive sales result. With a combined sale of €220,484,285 the auction attracted global attention. Max Beckmann´s “Bird of Hell” was the most attractive piece across the London show auctioned at a world auction artist record sale of €40,865,674. Double that of the previous record back in 2001.
Pablo Picasso´s potrait of his lover Marie Therese, Femme Ecrivent acheived the second highest price of the season selling for €39,594,474.
