THE WORLD TENNIS PROMISES MEET IN MARBELLA

Consolidated professionals and current world tennis promises will fight for the ATP circuit classification points in the Casino Admiral Trophy tournament

There are little more than two weeks left to enjoy the Casino Admiral Trophy tennis tournament included in the ATP Challenger Tour circuit. The competition, which will run from March 24 to 31 at the Puente Romano Tennis Club, is emerging as the most outstanding Easter Holiday sporting event in Marbella.

Consolidated professionals and future tennis promises will fight in the Costa del Sol to win the ATP classification points. Among them, the participation of one of the Spanish tennis leading figures, Alejandro Davidovich has been confirmed. The Málaga-born player lives one of his most difficult professional moments after becoming the first Spaniard in 50 years to win the last edition of Wimbledon junior tournament. Davidovich trains in Marbella and knows perfectly the courts where Casino Admiral Trophy will be held.

Another world tennis emerging figure that has confirmed his attendance at the tournament is the Australian tennis player, Alexei Popyrin. Popyrin defeated the Spanish Nicola Kuhn at Roland Garros 2017, becoming the first Australian men’s champion in Paris since Phil Dent in 1968. The young international promise comes to Casino Admiral Trophy in the favorite group. In Marbella, he feels at home after living the last seven years in our country perfectioning his technique on a clay court, which, undoubtedly, is a point in his favor in the competition.

The two tennis players join Adrián Menéndez (117 world ranking and 10 racket from Spain) who also serves as the tournaments ambassador. The final participants list will not be released until a few days before the start of the competition because the agenda of some of the players depend on their current sports commitments.

The call for Marbella is especially attractive on the European circuit as it is the first clay court of the season and has a prize of 50,000 dollars.

The ATP Challenger Casino Admiral Trophy tournament will be one of the attractions of Marbella’s sports and leisure offer during the Easter Holidays. In addition to the matches calendar, the organization has planned a complementary activities for children’s enjoyment, framed in Easter’s celebration. The Puente Romano Tennis Club facilities will house a unique circuit in which children will look for Easter eggs, participate in fun races or paint in an Easter egg decoration workshop.
