A prestigious honour and a fabulous venue ZENITH Defy Lab wins Innovation Prize in Germany

 

 

 

 

 

February 15th 2018 saw the addition of yet another prize to add to Zenith’s record-breaking collection as the brand’s ground-breaking DEFY LAB was presented with the prestigious Gold Medal for Technology awarded by specialised German watch Uhren Magazine publication Uhren Magazine. Equipped with a new and astoundingly slim monocrystalline silicon oscillator unaffected by magnetic fields, gravity or temperature, the DEFY LAB is a major innovation set to challenge the very foundations of watchmaking mechanics: the three-century old principle of regulating time with a balance spring developed in 1675 by Dutch astronomer, mathematician and physician Christiaan Huygens.

 

 

 

Calling all watchmaking aficionados with a penchant for luxury cars! Join us between March 8-18th 2018 at the 88th Geneva International Motor Show Land Rover Booth, where the brand with the guiding star will be displaying its unique CHRONOMASTER EL PRIMERO RANGE ROVER VELAR SPECIAL EDITION. Launched in 2017 in celebration of the brands’ shared creativity, this model was inspired by ideas from both product design and engineering departments. Powered by a robust engine beating at 36,000 vibrations per hour, it embodies all the modernity, elegance and glamour of its namesake SUV, with a ceramised 42 mm aluminium case and elegant brushed grey dial featuring copper-toned details. The final flourish comes in the form of a black rubber strap coated with black-toned perforated calfskin made of the same quality hide as that used on actual Range Rovers and secured by a triple folding clasp in DLC-treated titanium.
