Harrods will be celebrating Chinese New Year with an exclusive afternoon tea menu bringing together East and West traditions. Inspired by the Chinese game of mahjong, Harrods traditional British afternoon tea will be reimagined for the festive occasion.
Launching for a limited time only, from 11th January to 16th February 2020, at the Iconic Harrods Tea Rooms situated on the 4th Floor of the luxury department store. The afternoon tea is in partnership with Fenjiu, a premium Chinese Baijiu spirit available in Harrods Wines & Spirits department.
Seasonality and heritage have influenced the flavours across the menu from Mandarin to Black sesame, Harrods black tea, milk chocolate and Yuzu. The special menu will include bespoke chocolates in the design of mahjong tiles customized with Harrods emblems, a beautiful patisserie selection inspired by Chinese good luck symbols, a selection of savory sandwiches and Harrods signature scones accompanied by Harrods apricot jam infused with Fenjiu. The marrying of East and West will be reinforced with a signature cocktail bringing together Fenjiu and Harrods tea.
A wishing tree will be situated at the heart of the restaurant for the duration of the celebration for guests to hang a Harrods Lucky set paper tile with their wish for the year ahead making Harrods the perfect destination to celebrate the start of the new year with friends and family.
