Natalia Escuriola and Carlota Ciganda focus on Andalusia Costa del Sol Open in Spain

Natalia Escuriola and Carlota Ciganda focus on Andalusia Costa del Sol Open in Spain

Day 1 of the Andalucia Costa del Sol Open de España tournament

The Andalusian Costa del Sol Open of Spain has started to speak in Spanish to the first of change, with spurts, with an intensity that generates maximum expectations of the hand of two players of race, the Castellón Natalia Escuriola and the Navarrese Carlota Ciganda.

The two, ipso facto, have risen to the top of the rankings with tremendous effectiveness, when hardly a sigh of a tournament that seems from the start tremendously exciting in a battle without quarter to which have been added , lacking more, players of great quality who crave titles to generate glory – a case of the promising Georgia Hall – or of those who persistently persecute them to continue feeding their legend, case of Diana Luna and, above all, Suzann Pettersen, ready to explain why she is one of the best golfers in the world.

All of them – in addition to other players with a strong case of Lee-Anne Pace – have taken a step forward to distinguish themselves as dominators of the situation, with Natalia Escuriola, Georgia Hall and Diana Luna at the peak of the watchtower, with 7 under par, followed closely by Carlota Ciganda, Suzann Pettersen and Lee-Anne Pace, all with -6.

Much of the story of the first day was forged early in the morning, when at 08:30 and 08:42 they started their round who were going to capture the maximum protagonism by brilliantly parallel performances. From the tee of the hole 10 Carlota Ciganda, from the tee of the 1 Natalia Escuriola, both began to annoy birdies in their respective cards at a speed of vertigo, an insistence in the rightness that took to the two to win to the field in eight of its holes .

Carlota Ciganda, yes, stumbled twice, a pair of bogeys that humanized a glorious performance, while Natalia Escuriola, finer still if it fits, turned the hole 11, the only point of the route where she committed bogey, in a mere anecdote inside of a fable performance.

His excellent parallelism extended even after he delivered his victorious cards to the media when they spoke of being comfortable, at ease, in a field of undoubted fierceness to which nevertheless the two tamed with circus ability.

Raised to the top of the table, both had time to taste their privileged position for many hours, just before the Englishwoman Georgia Hall, after a discreet first round, entered 7 under par in her card in the last 9 holes, with special mention for an end composed of birdie-eagle that explains why this young player Solheim is of the most promising of the moment.   His excellent result was equaled late in the afternoon by Italian Diana Luna, author of an immaculate card, 7 birdies without failure that constitute a clear message of his brilliant state of form.

Suzann Pettersen, with 2 Majors and 15 tournaments on the LPGA in his presentation card, and South African Lee-Anne Pace, who already won the Women’s Spain Open in 2013, all of which are the first major references to the tournament that Azahara Muñoz, a local hero, wants to add sooner rather than later, who with 69 strokes remains in a haunting stalking.

 CLASSIFICATION FIRST DAY 1.- Natalia Escuriola (Spain), 65 + – Georgia Hall (England), 65 + – Diana Luna (Italy), 65 4.- Carlota Ciganda (Spain), 66 + .- Suzanne Pettersen (Norway), 66 + .- Lee-Anne Pace (South Africa), 66
